This is a seed grown Amorphophallus Titanum with variegated leaves.
Cultivar Origin:
Seed grown, the mother plant was named Bellatrix. A normal Amorphophallus Titanum, pollinated and seeds collected and grown.
Name Origin:
No story, just a seed grown titanum with variegated leaves.
Growth Habit:
Grows along a tall singular stem, with tree like leaves at the top. Larger cycles increase the tree height and branching. A large bloom forms every 5 to 7 years.
Leaf Blade:
Elongated oval, solid green with white specks and streaking.
Bloom and Fruit:
Bloom is 3 to 5ft tall, usually a reddish pink color. Smells of rotten flesh. Dies after 24hrs.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
This is the only variegated Amorphophallus Titanum that I have been able to locate. This grows exactly like a non variegated specimen, except the leaves have white streaking and blotches.
