Point at which the petiole's veins emerge forms and "X" shape along the leaf's central axis, and retains color as the leaf matures..

Leaf front: Evolves from emergent purple with lighter contrasting vein colors; growing through black hues; and maturing into dark green hues with white contrasting veins.

Leaf verso: Evolves from emergent purple; lightening through lavender hues; and maturing into light green hues with darker contrasting vein colors consistent with the petiole.
