Cultivar Origin:

At 2011,this hybrid was created by intentionally crossing Anthurium ‘Fiesta’(♀)and ‘Sempre’(♂). At 2014, the single plant was selected from F1 offsprings for asexual reproduction. At 2018, it was named ‘Shu Guang’.

Name Origin:

'Shu Guang' (曙光) means the sunlight at dawn in Chinese, it is extended as the bright prospect that is already in sight. This hybrid flowers are above the leaves, just like the rising sun, so it was named ‘Shu Guang’.

Growth Habit:

It is a small-size cultivar with an erect stature, not climbing.

Leaf Blade:

The mature leaves are dark green, 29,0 cm long and 14.5 cm wide on average, the apex of the leaf blade is narrow and acuminate, the circular lobes are small, roll inward and non-contact.The petiole length is 29.5 cm.

Bloom and Fruit:

The spathes are unicolored red, flat, heart-shaped, small-size(8.5 cm long and 8.5 cm wide). Its round lobes are small and not contact. The spadix is erect and the main color of is pink. The inflorescence can not produce visible pollen. No fruit observed.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

This hybrid retains the preferable traits of both parents. Small and compact plant type, redder, flatter and heart-shape spathe. These ornamental characteristics make it as a promising variety.
