Pollen Parent:
Base Species or Cultivar:
Philodendron Scandens

Cultivar Origin:
This cultivar was originally growing in a pot with normal Scandens and was identified by its bright white Variegation. Initially thought to be a White Stripe or Rio I contacted the Nurseries responsible for those cultivars and had confirmation it was neither of them. It was then observed for 6 months and propagated and observed again and found sport Variegation to be stable.
Name Origin:
This name has been chosen because 'Isabel' is the name of the person who initially discovered the mothetplant amongst a tray of normal Scandens and 'Mint' describes the Variegation colouration. It starts as a bright white, then over time slowly fades to a minty green much like a Florida ghost.
Growth Habit:
This cultivar shares identical growth habits to Philodendron Scandens.
Epiphytic, vining plant.
Leaf Blade:
Heart Shaped, non prominent veinage.
Bloom and Fruit:
Unknown.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
Isabel's Mint sports bright white sectorial variegation on emergent leafs and for some time after unfurling, much like a 'Rio' or 'White Stripe' which then much like a Florida ghost will over time fade to a minty green colour.
