Cultivar Origin:

In my home. After growing out and making cuttings of my gloriosum all cuttings began expressing the same exact multicolor flecks with some displaying candy stripe patterns along the petiole. Shades of the flecks come in multiple shades of green. One dark patch can appear black , glaucous and dark green at certain angles.

Name Origin:

Palouse is the original and indigenous name given to Appaloosa horses by the Nez Perce tribe of North America.

Growth Habit:

Creeping habit , growing horizontally.

Leaf Blade:

Cordate, with D shaped petioles.

Bloom and Fruit:

I have not observed the blooms or fruit of this specimen.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

Characteristics are most similar to the cultivar Philodendron Gloriosum “Snow Leopard”however, on my specimen the variances of colors and shades are more plentiful. The “Snow Leopard” often displays misshapen leaves where as my specimen produces heart shaped leaves true to Philodendron Gloriosum form. Petioles also display variances from atypical Gloriosum, striped green and cream, and , striped pink and cream petioles.
Texture: The texture of the variegated flecks of my specimen feel embossed in some places and raised in others.
Whole plant photo is of 2 cuttings of the same plant, one grown in leca and the other in a homemade aroid mix of coarse perlite, charcoal, orchid bark, fluval stratum, chunky peat, fur bark, and pon.
