Cultivar Origin:
The specimen was initially discovered attached to one of the trees at Mt. Bulakawan in August 2021. The specimen was acquired from a seller at Malilipot, Albay. The specimen consisted of one stem with ten leaves. This was then propagated through cuttings.
Name Origin:
The name was derived from Bulakawan Mountain, which protects the town of Malilipot, Albay, where it was originally found.
Growth Habit:
The growth characteristics are the same as other Scindapsus Pictus. We have grown our specimens in pots in both indoor and outdoor settings. Indoor setup light source using 18 to 36 watts grow light. The specimens thrive well both indoors and outdoors, under filtered morning sunlight, in a chunky, well-draining soilless mix.
Leaf Blade:
Bulakawan’s leaf blades are heart shaped which differs in color according to maturity.

Distinguishing Characteristics:
Juvenile leaves are olive green in color that darkens in hue as the leaves matures. The midrib has dark green pattern that exudes towards the leaf blade. Mature leaves are moss green to ash grey in color with silver speckles across the leaves.
