The name 'Roseflare' was chosen to reflect the cultivar's most distinctive characteristic: the vivid rose-pink variegation that emerges on new leaves and appears like a bright flame spreading across the foliage.
As the leaves mature, the intense coloration gradually softens into delicate shades of blush pink, peach, and warm rose tones, while retaining the impression of a glowing ember. In strong light, the variegated areas may develop a subtle golden sheen.
The name combines "Rose," referring to the unique rose-colored variegation, and "Flare," evoking the flame-like patterns and luminous appearance of the emerging foliage.
Growth Habit:
Terrestrial, clump-forming herbaceous perennial arising from an underground rhizomatous corm. Upright growth habit with strong petioles supporting prominently sagittate leaves. Growth characteristics are consistent with Alocasia 'Dragon's Tooth'.
Leaf Blade:
Leaves sagittate to narrowly sagittate with pronounced lobes and strongly sculpted venation characteristic of Alocasia 'Dragon's Tooth'.
