It was selected from a a seed batch collected from an unknown anthurium at the Orchid Jungle Nursery.

Name Origin:

It describes the color and shape of the foliage.

Growth Habit:

Large black velvet leaves. Can be grown on the jungle floor or attached to the side of trees.

Leaf Blade:

Large elongated heart shaped leaves with velvet texture.

Bloom and Fruit:

Bloom is a dark maroon and fruit are the same color with white seeds.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

The dark almost black leave color with a velvet texture.
