Propagated from a selected seedling of an intentional crossing of Anthurium wendlingeri and A. scherzerianum.

Name Origin:

The epithet is the old nickname of the cultivar creator's son, Chainsaw

Growth Habit:

Epiphyte with pendulous leaves

Leaf Blade:

Strappy leathery leaves that mature to about 4" (10cm) wide and 4-5ft (120-150cm) long. Leaf blades show some quilting between the midrib and collective vein along the length of the blade.

Bloom and Fruit:

Spathe is orange-red and lanceolate. Spadix is orange in color, pendant and spiralled. Berries are orange-red and has 2-3 seeds per berry.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

This plant is most comparable to Anthurium wendlingeri but leaf blades are relatively shorter and wider. The spathe is bright red and spadix is orange in color (versus pale green tinged with purple spathe and greyish white spadix).
